1. What the heck is Mo & Lo?

I, Monica (Mo) and Laura (Lo) are best friends from college. One night over too many glasses of wine, we decided we would throw away our careers and start Mo & Lo Designs. Many years later, the friendship remains and the name stuck.

2. What kind of metals do you work with?

I only use sterling silver, gold, or gold and silver plate. A common allergy that many people suffer from is an allergy to Nickel. This is a common, less expensive metal used in a lot of jewelry making. Unfortunately, it causes a harsh reaction for some. My sister developed this allergy in high school. I used to tease her that it was just an excuse to only wear fine jewelry. Because of this, I try to make jewelry that everyone can enjoy. 

3. What draws you to certain stone?

I always use natural gemstones, unless otherwise indicated. I'm attracted to certain colors at certain times and the stone du jour changes constantly! You'll find that my favorites, turquoise, labradorite, and agate, are used frequently.
